COLLEEN CARROLL
WHERE SHE CALLS HOME: Hood River, OR.
HER STORY: Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Colleen has always had an affinity for outdoor recreation. Spending summer weekends with her family in the Columbia River Gorge chasing wind, water and trails lead her to pursue her passion for kiteboarding full time by moving to Hood River in 2010. She continued to chase wind throughout the seasons and across the globe having travelled to more than 25 countries for competition, training and photoshoots. She currently competes in kiteboarding on the Kite Park League world tour with a 3rd place ranking for 2019 and is a 4x champion of the most prestigious park competition in the world, The Triple-S Invitational. Colleen has been awarded the AWSI (Association of Wind Sports Industries) Female Kiteboarder of the year 3 times. She has been published in all of the major kiteboarding magazines worldwide and continues to get ample media coverage. She started the Hood Jam kiteboarding competition running it as the lead organizer for four years. She spends her summer seasons at home in Hood River, OR and frequently travels to Cape Hatteras, NC, Mexico and abroad throughout the winter to produce media content for her sponsors or to organize Women’s Kiteboarding Retreats which focus on empowerment and progression. In addition to kiteboarding, she loves to snowboard, wakeboard, mountain bike, SUP, surf, foil wing, practice Yoga and explore the woods of the PNW.
