HER STORY: Julie has been riding road bikes since 2006 after a decidedly non-athletic childhood in the greater New York City area. Since catching the cycling bug, she’s moved to Southern California and completed numerous centuries, double centuries and longer distance events in the western USA. She has also competed in the HooDoo 500 (2013 Women's 50+ team record and 2015 Married Couple team record) and Rockwell Relay (2015 Women's 3rd place team) races in Utah. Of course every day starts out with a copious amount of STOKED Roasters coffee (current favorite = Dawn Patrol) since she's frequently up and out before the sun.
When she’s not riding, you can find Julie behind the wheel of her minivan, supporting her husband Colin as he takes on a variety ultracycling challenges. Staying awake for 24 hours or more at a time requires dedication, concentration, and very good coffee.
She loves traveling with her bike and has been on cycling tours in Europe, South and Central America and various US states. Julie credits her love of cycling to all of the friends she's made and all of the places she's discovered while riding.
